Outlaw Frank & Angel Hannah’s Pre Derby Weekend Bash April 21st & 22nd, 2012

We’re kicking off the weekend before the Derby with an ATV POKER RUN & HANNAH’S HOPE GOLF SCRAMBLE. Come join in on the fun and get in on the events. Proceeds go to Hannahs Hope for Life.

Schedule:

Saturday April 21st ATV POKER RUN
9:00 – 11:00 AM – Sign Up and draw first card at O&A $20
Leave O&A at 11:00 AM and head for the desert north of Bliss. Three designated card stops (TBD).
Back to O&A for prizes and awards. Free BBQ
Band starts at 7:00

The Hannah Bates Memorial “Rock Chuck Derby” 5th Anniversary Celebration April 27th, 28th, 29th 2012

It is the 5TH ANNIVERSARY of the Hannah Bates Memorial Rock Chuck Derby!!! The Derby was originally established by Frank Adams, owner of Outlaws and Angels Saloon in Bliss, Idaho. The Rock Chuck Derby is our biggest fundraiser of the year. In the last four years we have raised over $220,000.00 to donate to schools and families in need.

This year the Rock Chuck Derby will be held on 2 weekends. You can find more info at the Derby website. Sportsmen of all ages compete to bring in the World’s Biggest Rock Chuck and to win the grand prize gun safe. There can be up to 21 guns to give away for prizes. The competition is between you and all other hunters vying for the title and the prizes. There is also a youth hunt with 4 category prizes. The list of events include a Golf Tournament at Clear Springs, an ATV race, a Ride for Life and a Walk for Life. Hannah’s Helpers shop till they drop for Christmas!

Hannah’s Helpers were out this Christmas Season spreading good cheer. Their Santa hats were on and giving was in the air! They all had their gift tags with ideas galore, Oh.. most of these children really did score. Its delightful to be merry , it’s the season of giving, It’s nice to pay forward our most gracious beginnings! We filled every gift tag and ran through the aisles, we checked out our goodies and all shared our smiles! We filled up the trailor with no room to spare. The giggles and laughter rang in the air. Thanks to our supporters, our families and friends your love and commitment has carried us again! We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ! May your lives be full of love all though the year! Thanks Hannah’s Helpers, you’re the best!

Golf for Life Scramble 2011

It was a “Hole in One” !!!! We raised over $6000 at the tourney! We had 21 teams sign up and over 20 hole sponsors! Thanks to everyone who participated and joined in on the fun. It was beautiful up at Elk Valley Resort and the day was amazing. The little valley up there is the best. First place went to Coralee Roeloffs and her daughters, Sara and Kristin, and her mother Caryn! Way to go girls!!!! The winners team won customized Golf for Life Hoodies! Thank you Chuck Thomson and Terri Manduca for all your hard work in organizing this event. What a success! Thank you Bob and Sue Lyda for your help with the BBQ, and thanks to Amanda Bates and Kathy Mennenga for your help! Also a big thank you to the Elk Valley staff, the grounds were beautiful and the club house was very accomodating. A lot of fun was had by all.

We are all so inspired to pay it forward each time we have an event and each time you all support Hannah’s Hope! We are all making a difference and helping Hannah help others. Hope to see you next year on July 21, 2012 for our 3rd annual Golf for Life Scramble!!!

Hannah’s Hope “Golf for Life” Scramble, July 23rd

The Hannah’s Hope Golf Scramble is July 23rd at Elk Valley Resort in beautiful Featherville, Idaho. This is our 2nd annual tournament for Hannah’s Hope. Last years scramble was a huge success and this year is proving to be even better! Our golf committee is busy putting it all together and making every last detail perfect for our golfers. We have raffles, door prizes, a 50/50 draw and some awesome prizes for the winners of each division. You can also sponsor a hole for $100.00!!!! Your name or logo will be placed at that hole for the tournie and throughout the summer. The fee is $140.00 per 4 man team which includes a golfers only t-shirt and tri tip BBQ. Hannah Bates Memorial “Rock Chuck Derby” April 29-1st, 2011

The Hannah Bates Memorial Rock Chuck Derby was established by Frank Adams, owner of Outlaws and Angels Saloon in Bliss, Idaho. Frank was a great friend of Hannah’s. After Hannah had passed away Frank heard that Hannah had taken her life savings to buy new uniforms for her volleyball team. He was touched. Frank then decided to take the proceeds earned from the Rock Chuck Derby that year and donate the money to Hannah’s cause and the rest is history! This year is our fourth Derby! The Hannah Bates Memorial Rock Chuck Derby is our biggest fundraiser of the year. In the last three years we have raised over $100,000.00 to donate to schools and families in need. Because of Frank and his generosity and his will to help Hannah help others we are able to fulfill her wish through this event.

“Hannah’s Hope for Toys”

Hannah’s Hope for Life became “Hannah’s Hope for Toys” on Monday, Dec. 13^th. The HH4L donated to the local Hagerman Community Toys for Tots program. Many HH4Lifers participated in the shopping spree for kids. We ended up fulfilling 245 Christmas wishes to our local children ranging from toys to snow boots, clothes and electronics. It took us a mere 5 hrs and 15 carts from start to finish but it was well worth it. As always we are so blessed to be a part of these communities and the driving force of helping Hannah help others. Thanks to everyone for your support. You can still donate to the Hannah’s Hope for Life Foundation at any US Bank and on this website.

Twas the night for our shopping

We all met with glee

We toasted “good cheer

Into our sleighs we did flee

Brad was the leader

Cuz his sleigh was so big,

Then Rhonde & Carol in their Christmas rig,

With Bret and Laurie both nestled together and

Bobaloo and Sue , like two birds of a feather!

Hannah’s Helpers were ready

to get “on their shop”

We walked into Walmart

With money to drop.

We all grabbed our carts

With gift tags in hand

We ran through the isles and off

To Toyland,

When out of the blue

I heard Wilma in laughter

What is a Zoobie a Zhu Zhu

A Glectore?

And then….. around the corner

came young Tyler Money!

He looked at us puzzled and said

We were funny! He then grabbed those gift tags

And away he did go, HE knows what they are!

He’s a modern MoJo!!!

As I went down the isle

There did appear

Jake Patterson and Ryan

And eight lady reindeer!

Shopping for babys, little ones and moms

What is a “onsie”?

What department this from?

Frank was so jolly

And trying to get done

Kerry was happy

“this shopping is fun!”

Rick & Lisa’s carts

Were decked to the nines,

Rick was the stylist and

Lisa didn’t mind,

Steve in the pajama isle

Much to our surprise!

We all started laughing

He gave us those “eyes”

And in this great silence

We all heard some chatter

“Its MeKenzie & Rand”

We all had to scatter!

Their carts were all full

“move out of the way”

“We’re headed to checkout

It’s been along day!”

Away we all followed

15 carts full of goodies

From baby dolls & strollers

Trucks, hamsters and hoodies.

What a great night

Fun had by all

Children will be happy

That’s the best gift of ALL!

Hannah’s Hope for Life & Make a Wish

Mitch’s Wish! A day with the Green Bay Packers! Mitch and his family traveled to Green Bay in October and Mitch’s wish was fulfilled. Hannah’s Hope for Life is proud to be a sponsor of his wish. Mitch and his family had a great time. Jj (Mitch’s Mom) shared with us a few highlights and pictures. Thank you Martel family for allowing us to be a part of it all.
“Thank you again from Mitchell and all of us for this amazing experience. I know I don’t need to explain to you how important it is that Mitchell had something so exciting to look forward to. We got the news that he was able to get a wish during one of the most difficult times of his treatment, he was so very sick in picu and it was very scary. They told him he needed to start thinking about something he wanted to wish for and when he was healthy he would be able to do it. I swear the next day I saw such an improvement in him, it makes me so happy still today to know that Hannah and your family had so much to do with that!! I can never Thank you enough!!! “
So Green Bay, wow I get goose bumps every time I think back on this unforgettable trip. “We all had so much fun and I tell you The team and coach and all the people involved in the packer organization are Great people. So friendly, and giving! After speaking to Mitchell he told me that the thing he will never forget is getting able to walk down the tunnel, just like the team, with the music playing, a crowd cheering, and then the door opened and he was there standing on Flambeau field. He loved that!! Mitchell also really enjoyed meeting the team and Coach MacCarthy, we met the coach at practice and he brought him to the team introduced him to the team and he got to lead the final cheer and breakdown for the end of practice! Then it was off to lunch in the team cafeteria, which included conversation and autographs with most of the team members!!! Korey Hall was a great Host as well he made sure we got first class treatment and that all his teammates went and spoke with Mitchell! Then the “Game”, Mitchell really enjoyed the game, he still smiles, we all had sideline passes for pre game and got to watch the team warm up for the game. It was Cool. The best part was Aaron Roders walked up to the sidelines during pre game warm ups and walked right up to Mitch shook his hand and put his arm around him and told him thank you for coming!!! AMAZING!!!! Those pictures are still on the Green Bay packer website under the pictures for that particular game.” www.packers.com

Hannah’s Hope for Life and Camp Rainbow Gold

This year was the 9^th Annual Motorcycle Escort to Camp Rainbow Gold. Camp Rainbow Gold is a children’s summer camp for survivors and their siblings to have a great time in a safe and capable environment. On top of all the regular fun camp activities, this special camp has specially trained medical staff and counselors. Hannah’s Hope for life donated to the camp to sponsor attendees and we were there for the escort to camp.

Camp Rainbow Gold has become so popular that they break the camp into multiple sessions for the younger and older children so that the activities are more age appropriate and they can host more kids. This year’s escort started at the Bellview City Park. We met up there an had a fabulous lunch set up by the local Kiwanas. There was great live music from two local bands and one was a unbelievable all young boys band that I really look forward to seeing again. The Camp bus was loaded at different locations around Idaho and we at the park were notified as their bus got closer.

The local fire stations lead the charge followed by a giant gold bus full of cheering children. They circled the block and the motorcycles fell in line behind. It really was an amazing site to see all the black leather and “scary bikers” with giant smiles, ribbons on their bikes and stuffed animals tied to the back. We rolled through all the Wood River Valley like a parade. The police officers had every road closed and people were on the streets waiving and cheering. There were beautiful banners and balloons everywhere. It was my first group motorcycle ride and I loved every minute of it.

We got to camp and parked all the motorcycles in lines for the kids to look at. The kids all take turns sitting on different bikes and revving the motors. They took pictures in bandanas while the leaves and dirt flew behind the bikes. Some of the kids were so small that even the idling of the bike shook their entire bodies. What an amazing experience. This was only the 9^th Annual and I can only imagine what the big 10^th Anniversary Motor cycle Escort will be like. I wont miss it again and I hope you all can experience is as well!
